Brides-to-be planning their perfect day will be heading for the Devonshire Dome on Sunday February 19th for a date with the region’s leading wedding suppliers.

Peaks and Dales Weddings, a select consortium of independent professionals, will be staging its fourth Premier Wedding Show - and members are expecting a great turnout!

“With over 50 stands providing a comprehensive range of professional services, the show is a one stop shop for any couple planning their wedding.”says group chairman Adrian Leggett.

The group was established in 2006 by bridal wear specialist Betty Brace and wedding stationer Judith Hadfield with the aim of promoting the best of wedding suppliers in the local community. It has gone from strength to strength.

“Many leading members will be on hand to help with your plans and inspire you with new ideas for your special day,” adds Adrian.  “You’ll be able to meet bridal wear suppliers, cake-makers, photographers, stationery creators, florists, wedding car companies, and many more - on the same day and all under the same roof!”

The event will include two choreographed fashion shows, highlighting both cutting-edge and traditional wedding styles, along with bridal hair and make-up artistry.

Entrance is free and each visitor will receive a complimentary goodie bag. The show opens at 11.00am and closes at 4pm, with refreshments available from the Dome café.

Limited car parking is available at the Devonshire Dome and also along Devonshire Road.  There are also a number of pay-and-display spaces nearby.

Peaks and Dales members Whesthill Designs offer brides a great range of wedding stationery. Wedding invitations can be beige or white with sophisticated flair,
bright fresh and juicy, or just oozing chocolaty richness.

Whesthill's range caters for those who prefer their invitations to be utterly discreet, in neutral tones giving no clues whatsoever as to the colour scheme or the theme of your wedding, or they can be fully coordinated with your bridesmaid’s dresses, floral bouquets and table décor.

Whesthill cater for brides and grooms looking to organise a wedding which guests will remember forever – and who want to be imaginative in all aspects of the day,
whilst being aware of budget. They can create all items of celebration stationery from Save the Date cards to the final "Thank You" letter, coordinating colours right through to the envelopes.

Whesthill invite you and your mums if you wish, to spend the afternoon with us in the idyllic setting of the Peak District to create your wedding stationery. Their mantra is "the only limit to our creativity is your imagination!"

New Bridal Fashion from the Harrogate Bridal Show

Betty Brace from Bebra Designs visited the Harrogate Bridal Show to view the new designs for 2012.  The bridal show featured two designer fashion shows displaying the new collections.  One fast and flirty with up to the minute music, the second slower to classical music.  There were some beautiful new styles, some with sleeves, and some continuing to be strapless.

Crystal beading adorned a lot of the dresses and silky satin was prevalent in a lot of the new designs.  There were slinky bias cut gowns and full skirted ones, and others in-between. Ordering dresses off her main suppliers Betty was spoilt for choice and ordered a lot more than she intended to because she couldn’t choose between them.

The dresses in the new Amanda Wyatt collection now all feature corseted bodices which create stunning waistlines even on bigger girls.  Hilary Morgans collection echoed the latest designs and also included some budget bridesmaids dresses, all available in a kaleidoscope of colours.

Peaks and Dales Wedding Show

The third Peaks and Dales Wedding Show will take place at the Devonshire Dome in October 2011.

The show will be held at the Devonshire Dome in Buxton. There will be two catwalk fashion shows to show off the latest wedding dresses, menswear and bridal fashions.

Here is a short video clip from the wedding show last year.

Betty Brace and Judith Hadfield founded Peaks and Dales Weddings in 2006 with the aim of promoting the best of wedding suppliers in the local community.  Peaks and Dales Weddings is now run by members, for the members, ensuring it operates in the best possible way.

Judith says, “The Devonshire Dome enables us to showcase these high quality products and services in the ambience of this amazing 18th century setting.  Situated in the heart of Buxton, the venue has the largest unsupported Dome in Britain.  What better place to hold a Premier Wedding Show?”

“We expect to have up to 50 stands on the day,” adds Betty, “exhibiting everything from venues to dresses, cakes to photographers, cars to honeymoons.  Creating a one-stop shop, this Premier Wedding Show will be the only event needed to make a wedding dream become reality.  With fashion shows to watch, singers to listen to, food to sample and much, much more, the atmosphere will get everyone in the wedding mood!”

“Since we held a wedding Show at the Dome a few years back,” add Betty and Judith, “we felt it was the perfect venue.  We’re so excited at the prospect of making this an annual event each February, specifically for the local community so they would not have to travel afar to see what’s on offer.”

Peaks and Dales Weddings hope it will become established as the best annual showcase for all high quality, local businesses that are involved in the wedding industry.
