    Fitted Wedding Rings

So…..you love your engagement ring, but now you need a fitted wedding ring which sits against it perfectly. What are the options? Many shops will try to sell you something that almost fits or they will post your engagement ring to a faceless workshop miles away, meaning you are without it for weeks. This need not be the case. Ian Mortimore can handmake a fitted wedding ring specifically to fit your engagement ring. And he may only need your engagement ring for as little as a few hours. For more information on how a bespoke, fitted wedding ring might work for you, or on re-melting your old sentimental gold into something special for your big day, please call Ian Mortimore on 01629 636826, visit imjewellery.com or find him on Facebook at IM Jewellery

    Help! I Need a Photographer!

Choosing the right photographer can be daunting, but it really needn’t be difficult. Choosing a photographer for your wedding can seem quite daunting, but it really doesn’t have to be. It’s a huge benefit to be able to view the work of photographers online but the choice can seem a little overwhelming. If you have found a style that you like, make an appointment to go and see the photographer, look at some sample albums and have a good chat. Visiting a good photographer should be a really enjoyable part of planning your wedding. Formal / informal, posed / unposed, traditional / modern? Most couples have an idea of where they would like to pitch this – you can get a good feel for the flavour of a photographer’s work by seeing his or her work online. Some photographers work in a mainly posed and formal manner. Obviously you will need to allow more time on the day for this. At the other end of the scale some photographers are almost completely hands-off and shoot from the sidelines – something that only a very few photographers can manage successfully. You can see from the photographer’s samples whether you feel this works or not. Most photographers work is successfully positioned somewhere on a sliding scale between the two extremes. You could also see this in terms of actual impact of the

Things to Consider when Choosing a Wedding Photographer

Helpful advice on things to consider when choosing a wedding photographer from award-winning Buxton Wedding Photographer, Adrian Leggett of Linda and Adrian Creative Weddings. Choosing the right suppliers to be part of their wedding is a very daunting task for many couples, after all it’s not an every day occurrence – well not for most couples! Whenever we have an enquiry about wedding photography we always encourage the couples to come to our studio to meet with us. Face to face meetings are always the best way for them to meet us, see what we do and how we work, in a relaxed atmosphere. Our aim is to listen to how the couple see their wedding day, after all every one has different ideas, that’s what make our job so enjoyable! More often that not they are concerned about having their photograph taken, its our job to put them at ease, we believe that the whole experience should be an enjoyable one, not a daunting one, that’s why we always do a pre shoot at the reception venue about 4 weeks prior to the wedding days, this gives the couple a chance to have an input, to experience what it will be like on the day. This also gives us the opportunity to get to know the couple a bit better. We can then discuss the pictures taken, find out

Award Winning Wedding Videographer and Photographer Caught on Film

Popular Peaks and Dales Weddings members Adrian and Linda at Creative Weddings picked up 2 awards (Best Wedding Photographer and Best Wedding Videographer) at the County Brides Northwest Wedding Awards earlier this year and were recently featured on Sky TV’s the Wedding Show. Adrian says “This year has been really good for us but winning the awards in June has been the highlight so far! Having our customers giving us a vote of confidence meant so much for us, especially as we were up against 250 other Wedding Videographers and Photographers from across the North West” “This was a real stamp of approval showing that we do give our couples what they want, not what we think they should have! These awards mean much more to us than having a panel sitting and judging our work, after all the only people that matter at the end of the day are the Bride and Groom!” “Taking part in the television program was a big decision for us – we never like seeing ourselves on the screen let alone talking, but we are glad we did as we have already received a number of enquiries following the show” “Linda and I owe a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us, it means the world to us having these awards and it will help show all our new couples that we

    Wedding Dress Designs for 2014

It is that time of year again when all the designers show their latest wedding dress designs for 2014 at the trade show in Harrogate. Lace is still prevalent from all the designers. Illusion necklines plain, lace or beaded, some with sleeves were featured heavily along side the ever popular strapless gown. Silk dupion appears to be making a comeback for the simpler, sophisticated styles especially the fifties vintage styles which featured everywhere. Ivory lace over gold or blush was used on many bridal gowns. Almost every sort of headwear was displayed. The ever popular tiara, along with side combs, diamante hairpins and even diamante trimmed banana clips. More veils had lace appliqué to complement the lace gowns. An interesting veil had two combs to wear either side of the head for a twenties look. Evening gown styles are continuing but fifties style shorter gowns are making a comeback, some feature lace necklines. Colours? Whichever colour suits your colour scheme. There didn’t appear to be a trend for colours as I think the designers have realised that the independent bride wants to create her own style and colour scheme. One of our suppliers – Amanda Wyatt – was awarded “Wedding Dress of the Year” for her style Felicia. Wedding Dress Designs – Bebra Designs Buxton Award winning bridalwear designer Betty Brace can create the dress of your dreams. Working closely

Handmade His and Hers Wedding Rings

Most couples like to have matching wedding rings but what do you do if he likes yellow gold but she likes white? This was my problem when I went to see a Derbyshire couple recently. He had an old 18ct yellow gold ring that he wanted me to re melt into his wedding ring but she wanted platinum. By adding a narrow platinum inlayed band into his ring and using a small amount of the 18ct yellow gold left to add an identical band to the ring that I made for her, the problem of matching rings was solved. His and Hers Wedding rings that complement each other perfectly.
